Nassau is the capital of the Bahamas.  It is awash in pink colonial buildings, bustling street markets, as well as a few upscale resorts and great local restaurants. You have to try the local seafood, especially the fresh conch!  Downtown Nassau, is roughly twenty square blocks of historic architecture, luxury & local shops, modern murals, magnificent monuments & plenty of dining options.

Just over the main bridge, is Paradise Island, home to megaresort Atlantis and its opulent casino and fabulous water features. Beneath the soaring overpass connecting Nassau to Paradise Island are the fishing docks, lively fruit market & brightly colored conch shacks of Potter's Cay.  There are usually at least 30 chefs preparing various conch dishes.

In Freeport and Lucaya, the Bahamas' second-largest port, options range from frolicking with dolphins to perusing duty-free goods. For those more interested in miles of beaches, sailing, diving, fishing and a slower pace will want to visit some of the many Out Islands (also known as the Family Islands), most of which are thinly populated or uninhabited, yet which offer all manner of activities plus a chance to experience charming vignettes of Bahamian life.

Exuma has been voted the Bahamas most beautiful beach and The Abacos are very popular for families.
