About Tauck Tours?

Tauck is a family-owned and operated company with over 95+ years of experience was previously know as Tauck World Discovery. The story of how Tauck Tours was founded is very interesting. Arthur C. Tauck was a traveling salesman and decided to take six people along with him on his sales trip to the Northeast and Canada. Guests would travel in the morning and relax in the afternoon while Arthur Tauck made his sales calls. Word got out about this trip and soon people started asking about other destinations and an idea was born. In 1935 Tauck was the first tour operator to get a tour broker license in the United States. Then in 1958 Arthur Tauck Jr took over for his father and expended the company. Tauck is considered an innovator by combining motorcoach travel with air travel to destinations in the United States and Europe. Please note that the minimum age is 3 for most departures except... minimum age for river cruises is 4 years, minimum age for Tauck Bridges African safaris is 5 years and minimum age for Galapagos cruise is 6 years. River Cruise News
Tauck recently added the Andorinha river cruise ship, specifically designed for the Douro River. The river fleet is operating on the Douro, Seine, Rhône, Rhine and Danube rivers. Their small ship programs have explored Iceland, Greece, the Galápagos, the Mediterranean and the Dalmatian Coast. European Christmas Markets will be open this December and Tauck will operate these beloved itineraries on the Rhine and Danube.
River and Small Ship cruises are relatively fixed in capacity and are over 80% sold for the year so make sure you get on a waiting list if necessary.

How much does a Tauck Tour cost? Prices range from around $3000 to over $20,000 per person, depending on boat choices, tour itinerary, time of year and stateroom selection.

Are Tauck Tours worth the money? Yes! You have to keep in mind all that is included up front.  They use premier hotels around the world.  They hire their tour directors versus using subcontractors.  The tour leaders are very knowledgeable, like walking encyclopedias. Their slower pace works very well and their free time is welcome to the weary traveler. In select destinations they add include naturalists, conservationists, winemakers, chefs, musicians or professors to enhance your experience.  Guests are treated royally and Tauck always has a wonderful little surprise on every tour. Experience unique access such as dining at a private palace, visiting the Vatican Museum after hours or enjoying lunch at a renowned cooking school or restaurant. 

What does Tauck Tour include? Every travel expense is included in one up-front price �?�¢?? airport transfers, all hotel and ship accommodations, entertainment, meals as specified in the itinerary, special dinners, land and cruise transportation, sightseeing, shore excursions, luggage handling and most taxes.

What is not included in the Tauck Tour price? Airfare to and from the tour.  Pre or Post night accommodations unless you book during a special promotion such as the Tauck Gift of Time.  Personal expenses such as phone calls, hotel room service alcoholic beverages, laundry and other optional incidental extras are not included.  The Tauck Director and driver gratuities are not included on land trips and can be extended on a voluntary basis.  As exceptions, Tauck Director and driver gratuities are included on cruises and on all Tauck Bridge family trips.
